Silberman’s was established in 1913 on the east side of Manhattan in New York City. In 1935, after surviving through the great depression, the founders moved the business to the Parkchester section of the Bronx. The company evolved over the next 60 years, going from haberdashers to a traditional Army & Navy store.
In 1999, the company started WorkingGear.com, its on-line business. The company, which is still privately and family owned by the great-grandchildren of the founders, continues to operate with the same values and tradition as its original owners.
